Naked Truth Beauty Pop-up Thursday December 6th, 5 – 8p

Lauren of Naked Truth Beauty will be showcasing some of her favorites winter party looks with her socially responsible beauty products that are good for our bodies, communities, and environment, Thursday December 6th from 5 – 8p!

How would you describe what you make?

I call it "healthy and sustainable makeup for naturally beautiful skin." The goal of Naked Truth Beauty is to be as "good" as possible in all the ways: Good-looking, good for your skin, good for your body, good for the environment and wildlife, and good for the communities that make the component ingredients. This isn't just another lipstick.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

The best piece of advice I've been given is "to know what success means to you." Running a business means a lot of feedback, both solicited and unsolicited, and having a very clear goal in mind helps to keep me centered on what I want Naked Truth Beauty to be. This piece of advice helps to keep the brand authentic to my vision, and also validates my decision to consider more than just the "bottom line."

Can you describe your favorite part of the work you do?

My favorite part of what I do is getting to meet and work with so many interesting, wonderful, and creative people. I have the unique pleasure of getting to meet many people by talking to customers at in-person events, sharing the process of owning a business with other entrepreneurs, and forging partnerships with amazing people like the folks at Click!

Can you explain how Naked Truth came to be?

Naked Truth Beauty came to be out of frustration. "Green" beauty has become such a buzzword-laden sector, and finding products that live up to the marketing can feel impossible, or at least like you need to be a walking dictionary to navigate ingredients labels. I started making my own makeup so that I would know exactly what was in it and where it came from, and eventually realized that other people were also looking for products that they could trust instead of taking a brand's word for it that it's good for you. I made the makeup I wanted: Simple, organic, recognizable ingredients in 100% biodegradable packaging that does the job easily – it's buildable, multipurpose, good for your skin, and super flattering.

Do you have a personal favorite color(s) from your collection?

I do, but I don't, because my favorites change with the seasons! I use the "Lumos" highlighter every day because it looks so natural, and love "Carrie" lip & cheek for holiday parties, "Wednesdays" lip & cheek during the summer, and "As If" lip & cheek for the every day. "Little Town" is my favorite lid color because it's a little purple, a little silver, a little brown – just the perfect taupe to compliment any eye color. With all of that said, I'm currently obsessed with "Arwen" highlighter (it matches the season!), especially as a lip balm. It gives a fun, festive, pearl shimmer, and I can't get enough of it!
