May 12th is the next West Seattle Art Walk, and we are excited to share the work of Blake Liliane Hellman, a West Seattleite creating the gorgeously abstract paintings your walls have been waiting for.
Blake combines acrylic and mixed media on canvas, starting without a plan and letting the composition grow organically. Refining as she goes, she exaggerates, adds, and edits - sometimes hundreds of times - until she finds that magic moment where out of nothing, "something" is formed.
These "somethings" are stunningly layered blocks of color, subtle lines, and the tactile texture of paint on canvas.
