Stay Home Stay Healthy

Stay Home Stay Healthy

It has been a crazy couple of weeks to say the least.  Like everyone, we've watched the Coronavirus saga unfold and adjusted our model as the field has shifted. We sent most of our employees home and ceased regular business hours at the shop, put extra energy into our website, and drove around town delivering orders with alcohol wipes attached for safety. Now with the Stay Home Stay Healthy order, we are doing just that, and trust that you are too. With the extra time you have at home, it's worth exploring our recently expanded website (that continues to expand...

March Featured Artist: Rick Moreno

March Featured Artist: Rick Moreno

Every now and again, we get off the island to explore other local enclaves. The greater Seattle area is rich with independent shops, cafes and restaurants and our team can often be found taking little day trips, spreading some love around the region. On one such adventure we found ourselves in a beautiful coffee shop in Old Downtown Renton, drooling over the specialty pours and the art installation by Rick Moreno. A muralist by trade, Rick has channeled his love of color and nostalgic vibes into a collection of original paintings and prints titled "1973". The grouping pays homage to...

Love birds for Valentine's Art Walk: new work by Rachel Austin

Love birds for Valentine's Art Walk: new work by Rachel Austin

We've featured several different bodies of work from this Portland artist who first won our heart with her Map Painting series, which she's returned to for this show. Rachel mounts maps on wood block panels that she hand makes, then applies a thick layer of clear acrylic and paints sweet scenes of birds, flowers, trailers – even cats or a boat on occasion. The maps she chooses are often intriguing in their own right; some of the ones she's chosen for this show include historic maps of our area...

Frances Five Years In: an Alzheimer's Update

It's been nearly five years since Click! co-founder Frances Smersh was diagnosed with young-onset Alzheimer's Disease at age 48, and one of the most common questions we get in the store is "how is she doing?".  It's a difficult question to answer because all things considered, she is in a great place. She socializes with friends and customers on the floor at Click!, continues to make art, and is generally in good spirits. These are the things we focus on. In other news, she is increasingly confused by the simplest of conversation, is unsteady on her feet (she's currently wearing...

Metal + Matter Featured Artist: Adia Mei Jun Bobo

Metal + Matter Featured Artist: Adia Mei Jun Bobo

"metal + matter - a jewelry invitational" is a celebration of modern jewelry makers and an homage to our roots. Over the next 6 weeks, we'll get to know one of our featured artists through their own words and images. Adia Mei Jun Bobo's Rain City Forge jewelry has been a cornerstone of our collection for several years now. Her mastery of texture pairs nicely with her sensibility for creating comfortable, wearable forms. For this show she's brought several bold new pieces as well as an extended collection of the work we've come to know and love in sterling silver and 24k...
