Melbourne-born Seattle resident and multi-media artist Brad Strain has shown work at Click! before, but not since before our move to the West Seattle Junction nearly six years ago.
We're happy to correct this oversight by welcoming him back to our walls this August 11th! Brad will join us for Art Walk from 6-9pm with Imaginary Captured Moments, a series that explores memories and captured moments both real and imagined.
We caught up with Brad to see what he's been up to:
What do you make?
At the moment, watercolor on paper.
What is it made of? Do you have a favorite medium?
Currently Ink and watercolor on paper.
Where do you live?
Hillman City, Seattle
Where are you from?
How long have you been making?
A long time, but in the sense of showing my work it has been around 10 years with some time off for good behavior
How did you get started?
Do you have specific areas of inspiration?
I have been doing a Instagram series of a "scribble-a-day" for 2016. It has forced me to not be so precious about inspiration and use the act of art as inspiration, even when maybe you're not feeling it.
What do you listen to when you are working?
Music with beats, podcasts with laughs
Coffee or tea?
Walk or drive?
Driving to somewhere nice to walk
Pen or pencil?
Paper or computer?
Favorite place you've traveled?
Favorite time of day?
Either magic hour is pretty great
Career highlight thus far?
Having pieces at Art Basel, Miami a couple of years back
Meet Brad Thursday, August 11, from 6-9pm!
