We just got word that the summer Orla Kiely bags will be delivered this Thursday, June 24th. Add those to the recent Queen Bee arrivals and the nice stock of Highway bags, and you’ve got the makings of a fabulous handbag event, which is just what we’re going to do this Friday the 26th, from 6 to 9 pm.
We’re partnering with The Ruby Room, a national organization with a local chapter that dresses up teenage girls in formal wear they would otherwise be unable to afford. Bring a gently used handbag to donate to The Ruby Room, and receive 20% off the purchase of your new handbag at Click!
If you’re not able to make it Friday night, we are accepting donations (and giving discounts) all weekend long.

UPDATE 6/23/10: We will accept as many items as you wish to donate to The Ruby Room, however there is a limit of one discount per customer.
UPDATE 6/24/10: They’re here! Classic Shoulder Bag (pictured), “Midi” Sling Bag, and Laptop bag!

Well, actually all week long. To celebrate Daylight Savings Time, we’re having a sale on all of our lighting, clocks, and handbags (which have very little to do with changing the clocks, other than that perhaps you change your handbag twice a year… right?). The sale is on through Sunday March 21st. Spring forward!
Lighting: we just started carrying lamps by Slip (see previous post). All in-stock lamps are 20% off, and special orders (wait until you see the sample swatches!) are 10% off. Every other lamp in the store is 30% off, including the wood veneer lamps by XY Decor (pictured here), cork lamps by Wingard, and structural polycarbonate lamps by Lazy Susan.

Clocks: New this week are bright colored clocks by Morito Yoshi, and we’re introducing them at 20% off. All of our other clocks, including Umbra’s Big Time, Ribbon, and Prima (the wood grain one behind the counter, shown here) are 30% off.

Handbags: All of last season’s bags from Queen Bee Creations, Highway, and Malcolm Fontier are 25% off. Get them while you can!
All of this news can come to your email inbox if you subscribe to our newsletter!

We’ve spent the last week in New York City, kicking the pants off of the trade show and wholesale showrooms to find everything that we can’t find locally. This means that Click! is going to have some sweet merchandise coming into the shop for fall and winter, including new home decor from our favorites FluffyCo (bottle openers, wallets), Modern Twist (place mats, coasters), and Three by Three Seattle (yes, we order from them in New York, it’s just easier that way, don’t ask us why, but for crying out loud they’ve got DRY ERASE BAMBOO MAGNET BOARDS which are genius; all we can do is love them). We also found some sweet new items, including table runners, holiday ornaments, cocktail shakers, and much more, that we promise to document for you here just as soon as we can get our hands on some images.
Oh and hey ladies, you should note that we have not only ordered the new fall lines of Orla Kiely and Highway handbags, we’ve finally added Portland’s finest Queen Bee handbags. We’ve always loved their designs, but didn’t like that they were made of PVC. They’ve gone to a much more eco-friendly leather alternative and we LOVE THEM.
New work will be arriving at the store within a week or so; we’ll continue getting fresh new pieces in until holiday madness begins in just a few short months.

Ever wonder what would happen if they closed California Avenue and put up a bunch of canopies with an odd assortment of artists, businesses and musicians? You can get your answer this weekend, as the West Seattle Junction folks do just that. We’ll be joining them in an effort to spread the good word that is Click! to the unwashed masses. Our booth will be near Cupcake Royale, just north of California and Alaska.
Why go to Summerfest? You can see Mudhoney for free. You can see Omar Torrez at the Elliott Bay Brewery. You can come to the Click! booth and get 20% off Smersh Design Jewelry and Orla Kiely Handbags, and take home a coupon for 15% off your next purchase at Click! Design That Fits. Or, you could just bring us a drink to help us survive our return to the summer swap meet battleground. We’ll probably need it.

This Saturday, May 9th is West Seattle Community Garage Sale day. There are hundreds of sales including individuals, groups of neighbors, and many businesses. We’ll be participating by taking our sale and clearance items out to the sidewalk, marked at half price or even less. And we’re not just talking about Christmas ornaments here. There will be previous season’s handbags from Orla Kiely and others, the Angela Adams wool rugs that we’re not able to carry any more, handmade pottery, picture frames, and much much more.
The highlight for many is the sale jewelry. Each year, we dig through our drawers and find the sad and lonely pieces looking for a home: the prototypes that never made it into production, the “seconds” that have a minor blemish, the discontinued designs, and the single earrings that have lost their mate. We price these to be very affordable, and they usually go fast.
We will open at 9am on Saturday for all you early birds, as that is when Garage Sale Day officially kicks off. See you then!

Shinzi Katoh really is “big in Japan”, which we were completely unaware of. All we know is we fell over backwards when we saw these cute-overload canvas bags. Really, I mean we were both giggling like schoolgirls and running into one another. We just learned that these are on the way and will be in the store in a matter of days. 3/17/2009 UPDATE: They’re here! We have six different designs, at $27 each.

Can you hear my voice?

Stop by Saturday and/or Sunday. We’ll pour you something nice and you can figure out which of the Spring or Fall line you’d like to take home.

Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching, and with it the eternal question: what to get for your sweetie? Boys are notoriously difficult to shop for, so let’s start there…

Malcolm Fontier makes the best boy bags on the planet. Made of polyurethane-coated canvas, they are a modern, PVC-free alternative to leather — and they look awesome. We have new designs scheduled to arrive on the 9th they’re here!

Whether he’s a manly man or a metro-man, he’ll love the industrial look of these stainless steel wallets by Stewart/Stand. Add a set of Smersh Design concrete cufflinks and you’ve got one tough present!
And for the ladies… forget about roses and chocolates. Show her you know her taste with an Orla Kiely handbag.

And of course, you can’t go wrong with Smersh Design Jewelry. Frances’s recent designs in gold with red cork ought to be sufficiently romantic.

Of course, one of the best ideas is to go experiential. How about treating your sweetheart to a home spa day, complete with an organic cotton robe and slippers set, currently half price? Or, you could get a set of Roost cocktail glasses from Click!, then make Frances’s favorite drink, the Damask Rose:
Hendricks gin - enough for a generous martini
cranberry juice - a whisper to a splash (frances prefers a whisper)
rose water – preferably in a spritzing bottle
cucumber round for garnish
Chill a frosted or platinum Roost cocktail glass from Click!
spritz with rose water 5 – 7 times
measure Hendricks gin and a touch of cranberry juice
shake well with ice
strain into prepped cocktail glass from Click!
garnish with cucumber and give it one last rose water spritz.

We’ve been searching for a new handbag line for a while, and have finally found the one. GABS by Urban Junket are an amazing convertible bag… just a few snaps and your bag transforms from flat to an adorable boxy shape in an instant. They come in two sizes of two styles… one that is all leather, the other is leather and wool. Get them while you can.

We are just on our way home from the California Gift show and couldn’t wait to tell you about our favorite new product. As it turns out, paper is not obsolete. We frequently have people have come into Click! looking for something to carry paper files to client meetings. The ladies at Oblong have it all figured out.

Introducing the Oblong BoxTote. Made of high-quality, laminated paper, it breaks down to ship or store flat, and snaps together in seconds. Its sturdy, boxy structure is ideal for carrying anything that might otherwise get folded or bent. There are even matching file folders available.
We expect to have them in the store in a few weeks. Call or email for availability.
