At home, we have a wide assortment of handmade mugs. We use them daily, defiant of the increased risk of breaking our beloved one of a kind functional art pieces. There is something about waking up to a lovely drink (like, say, coffee) when you are drinking it out of a mug that loves you right back that makes you feel like the world is actually a pretty good place, and that it will be OK to leave the comfort of the breakfast nook and be a part of it.

Introducing Lollipop Pottery, the creation of Tyler and Jessica, who got married and had babies and made mugs and bowls, and who make us happy every morning when we wrap our hands around their creations (the mugs that is… we haven’t actually met their babies). They hand throw each piece, apply Jessica’s hand drawn decals, and hand embellish with lead-free glazes. That’s a lot of hands!

You’ve got to get up pretty early to get the matching bowl:

Food/microwave/dishwasher safe. $27 - $32.

We were so attracted to these irresistibly sculptural lamps from XY Decor, we wondered if they had us in mind at their conception. They already seem so at home hanging in our display window, probably because their contemporary design blends effortlessly with traditional or modern decor. Strips of natural walnut, maple, and zebrano shade wood veneer are coaxed into the eye-catching organic curves of these lamps.

It’s no secret that we love coffee here in the Emerald City. It takes a lot to impress the average Seattleite with a cup o’ joe, so when we tried the coffee from the French presses by Forlife it was a pleasant (and delicious) surprise. Apparently the editors at Imbibe magazine were just as inspired as we were to give due accolades to these stylish little presses. In a recent article, Imbibe names the Coffee For One press as the best singe-serving coffee press, touting it’s attractive design, functionality, simple construction, and clean, sediment-free coffee. The only con they list? The enclosed brewing instructions don’t yield a strong enough cup of coffee — a problem easily remedied by more grounds or more sleep. We have the single-serving press and a larger 34 oz. press in an array of fun colors at Click, so snap one up before they’re gone!

The free, three-day festival is in it’s 26th year and will feature booths from area merchants, works by local artists, and tons of activities and demonstrations for all ages.

Click will be setting up across from Northwest Art and Frame, showing off a sleek, new red loveseat and handing out coupons for 15% off in our booth or at the store. You can find us outside from 10am-8pm on Friday and Saturday and 11am-7pm on Sunday, taking advantage of the live music and food vendors and trying to appear as though we’re working. Come enjoy the lovely weather with us!

This program encourages Westwood Village shoppers to use wheeled handcarts to run shopping errands rather than driving to and fro. Until the project expands to the rest of West Seattle, we’ve decided to encourage this great idea by discounting our lovely shopping trolley selection. Just come in and mention the The Cart Project and receive 25% off the purchase of one of these sturdy, stylin’ little numbers.

Zara, (we’ve named her) has saved our backs. Farmer’s Market? Go ahead and buy a sack of potatoes, some beets and a bunch of flowers. It all fits and it will be a much more enjoyable walk home.
