End of Summer Sale Extravaganza!

August 21 – September 5

Summer in Seattle was short but sweet, and so is our sale! For the last two weeks of summer some of our favorite designs are discounted, from handmade ceramic mugs to our own concrete and cork jewelry.

A few visual highlights:

Highway bags are all 40% off

Slip lighting is 10-30% off, and includes both in store purchases and special orders

All Joseph Joseph kitchen accessories are 30% off

Ink Dish tableware is 40% off

And all ceramics are 20-50% off, like these darling salt and pepper shakers from PMO Design.  (We LOVE these!)

Pop in the store to check out the rest of our items, from 25% off Smersh Design jewelry to half-price Pantone mugs!  We’re here Tuesday-Friday 12-7, Saturday & Sunday 11-5.

Flip and Tumble bags

This is a wonderfully designed reusable bag!  Flip & Tumble bags quickly fold into a stretchy pouch, creating a small portable ball. Bags come in awesome contrasting color combinations, have a reinforced shoulder to prevent slipping, and made of ripstop nylon which can hold up to 25 pounds.  Each bag is $9.50.

We also have the Flip & Tumble produce bags, which makes it easy to ditch the plastic at the grocery.  Perfect for farmer’s market season!  A set of five reusable bags is $12.

Graypants Lighting

If you’ve visited Click! in the last few weeks, you’ll have noticed some new lighting adorning our storefront.  Meet Graypants, a Seattle-based design company that’s transforming scrap corrugated cardboard into well-designed and eco-friendly lighting.

“Disc” pendant lamp

We love the clean design and the amazing shadows that these lights create, and it doesn’t hurt that they’re eco-friendly and locally made, too!  See more images and info here.

“Callisto” pendant lamp

We are currently stocking the Disc lamp (12″ diameter, $279) and the Callisto lamp (10″ diameter, $229) in both hardwire and swag configurations. Other styles will be available to order.

handbags

We just got word that the summer Orla Kiely bags will be delivered this Thursday, June 24th. Add those to the recent Queen Bee arrivals and the nice stock of Highway bags, and you’ve got the makings of a fabulous handbag event, which is just what we’re going to do this Friday the 26th, from 6 to 9 pm.

We’re partnering with The Ruby Room, a national organization with a local chapter that dresses up teenage girls in formal wear they would otherwise be unable to afford. Bring a gently used handbag to donate to The Ruby Room, and receive 20% off the purchase of your new handbag at Click!

If you’re not able to make it Friday night, we are accepting donations (and giving discounts) all weekend long.

UPDATE 6/23/10: We will accept as many items as you wish to donate to The Ruby Room, however there is a limit of one discount per customer.

UPDATE 6/24/10: They’re here! Classic Shoulder Bag (pictured), “Midi” Sling Bag, and Laptop bag!

Shakers & Mugs from PMO Design

salt and pepper shakers

Click! is in love with the new work from PMO Design, located in Montreal, CA.   We just got in a collection of (the cutest!) salt and pepper shakers and lovely cozy mugs.  We have a flock of shakers ready to be paired up, taken home, and join you at your table.  These little guys/gals are individually handmade, giving each one their own personality.  You can choose a white & white pair or a black & white pair for only $25.  So cute!

PMO Design also creates handmade ceramic mugs snuggled inside cozies.  Each cozy is hand-knit by the designer’s mom(!) and is machine-washable and dryer-safe.  The mugs come in two sizes; a small is $21 and large is $25.

poppi party all month long!

Thanks to all of you who turned out for such a fun, jewel-filled night at Click! last Saturday!  We had an absolute blast hanging out with the inspiring Dawn Benedetto and pawing through her collection of happy, colorful baubles.

Dawn chatting it up with party guests

Great news — we’re lucky enough to have our entire poppi collection around until the end of May, so if you didn’t get a chance to visit Click! for the party or are needing a second fix, you still have your chance.  Please note that we’re keeping poppi’s fabulously popular rings in stock indefinitely — they’re certainly a store favorite.

And since Mother’s Day is just around the corner (ahem — this Sunday, May 9th), we just thought it should be mentioned that poppi’s Cluster earrings and her Roe and Petal rings have been a big hit with the ladies.

poppi party at Click!

It seems like everybody is having trunk shows these days. So what’s the big deal?

The big deal is that a trunk show of poppi jewelry, complete with poppi creator Dawn Benedetto, is sure to be the most fun you’ve had on May Day since that time you first danced around a May pole and realized the meaning of it all.

Famous for her one-size-fits-all rings, Dawn will be bringing her full line of fantabulous jewelry including bracelets, earrings and pendants in the classic poppi ring style. She’ll also have vintage lucite rings and “change-out” “Roper” earrings , full of color and fun.

Most of all, there will be rings, rings, and rings. Poppi rings are flirty and fun. The genius of their design is that all of her rings fit a range of sizes, which means you don’t have to worry about how your fingers change size with the weather. It also means they are very giftable. Did we mention Mother’s Day is coming right up?

Saturday, May 1. Artist reception 5pm to 8pm. Snacks and bubbles for the invitees. RSVP on our Facebook page.

new Queen Bee bags & wallets!

From personal experience, I know that keeping up with a seasonal fashion schedule is tough as a designer/maker. Coming out with fresh, compelling design at least twice a year is challenging on it’s own but designing is only the beginning! A maker needs to source and inventory new materials, teach new techniques to assistants who will help with making, document and price pieces accordingly and promote the new work in order to have a successful season. Hats off to the Queen Bee crew! They do it so well and we are happy to have their summer handbags and wallets in store at Click!

Shown are “puddle jump” Truckette $98, and “loops” Maximo wallet $48

Also selected bags from fall/winter discounted 20%! (including those awesome industrial felt bags!)

Savings on light and time, all day

Well, actually all week long. To celebrate Daylight Savings Time, we’re having a sale on all of our lighting, clocks, and handbags (which have very little to do with changing the clocks, other than that perhaps you change your handbag twice a year… right?). The sale is on through Sunday March 21st. Spring forward!

Lighting: we just started carrying lamps by Slip (see previous post). All in-stock lamps are 20% off, and special orders (wait until you see the sample swatches!) are 10% off. Every other lamp in the store is 30% off, including the wood veneer lamps by XY Decor (pictured here), cork lamps by Wingard, and structural polycarbonate lamps by Lazy Susan.

Clocks: New this week are bright colored clocks by Morito Yoshi, and we’re introducing them at 20% off. All of our other clocks, including Umbra’s Big Time, Ribbon, and Prima (the wood grain one behind the counter, shown here) are 30% off.

Handbags: All of last season’s bags from Queen Bee Creations, Highway, and Malcolm Fontier are 25% off. Get them while you can!

All of this news can come to your email inbox if you subscribe to our newsletter!

Lighting by slip.

We just received our first shipment of stunningly gorgeous lamps from slip., straight out of North Carolina. The pendant lamps come in a number of sizes and shapes, but it’s the fabric we fell in love with:

slip-pendant-light

Just when we caught our breath, along came the table lamps, with such groovy curves and exquisite detail (notice how the top ceramic piece finial [thanks Charles] matches the base) that we were immediately sold.

Best of all, they are very reasonable priced: The pendant lamps are $148 including hardwire kit, and the desk lamps start at $182.

New at Click!, plus some old favorites

As is typical a few weeks after the trade shows, we’ve been seeing a lot of our favorite UPS driver lately. One of the new favorites in the store is the “Blackberry” tray from Red Vanilla. White porcelain, hand painted with a pattern that pairs nicely with the Modern Twist “Tree of Us” coasters (that’s what we call Design That Fits).

Blackberry

The tray measures 8″ x 19.5″, and is only $34. Astute observers will notice in the background a product we haven’t had in the store for a while: the wine butler, which is a Swiss-Army-Knife-like multi-tool perfect for the wine lover.

Another new arrival is this sweet furniture from InModern. Check out the end tables, paired with some sweet ceramics (and a Woolyhoodwink):

EndTables

and the coffee table (could be a great kids table), stacked with an InModern stool and a several QueenBee bags and wallets:

Coffee-Stool

Again with the background: check out the Bike Parking sign, $36, new from FluffyCo.

Mighty Wallets

Often times customers will recommend products to us, which they are usually apologetic about. As it turns out, we love to hear from our peeps when they find Design That Fits.

One such recent recommendation was the Mighty Wallet. Mighty Wallet™ is a Tyvek® wallet that is water-resistant, tear-resistant, recyclable, and made of recycled materials. At only $15 each, they make a great little gift for your Valentine.

We have several designs available in the store, and hope to have them available for purchase online soon. Please call or email to order if you are not in our area. UPDATE: Select designs are now available for purchase from our web store. Call or email if the design you want is not show there.

New York report #3

We took the trade show with great alacrity today, cheerfully attacking the aisles of Accent on Design, Studio, Details, and Tabletop. We came upon the booth of JosephJoseph, a British design team whose early glass dishes were part of our opening inventory at Click! five years ago. They’re now doing a full kitchen line, including these indexed cutting boards (that we first heard about over at Shelterrific!) and a salad bowl they call “Hands On”:
HandsOn
The hands detach to become salad servers. Look for these at Click! in late April.

Downstairs in Details, we visited one of our favorite designers: Jem Filipi from Highway. As you can see, she has new colors for spring, and Frances is modeling one of the new leather bags in her line.NYIGF2010

New York Report #1

Day one at the New York International Gift Fair had us covering the aisles in Handmade and At Home. What were we excited about? Well for one thing, the most adorable salt and pepper shakers in the world, and their friends, cozy-wearing mugs:

SnP1

Handmade in Montreal by PMO Designs, these are absolutely adorable, and surprisingly affordable. The cable-knit cozies are made by the artist’s mother. Love it!

The next most exciting news? We’re having a Poppi party. The exact date hasn’t been set, but it sounds like the amazing Dawn Benedetto, creator of the fabulous Poppi rings, will be bringing a full selection of her jewelry for a show at Click! in early May, just in time for mother’s day. I’m just saying. Here Dawn and John are discussing possible dates:

Christmas Eve notes

The best coffee that you will ever make in your own home will come out of one of these Bialetti stove top espresso makers. You use less coffee and get a strong, pure tasting espresso. Wake yourself up right with a shot of espresso or sip a smooth latte. Beautiful curves in stainless steel make the Class sweet to gaze at as well.

Bialetti

Bialetti “Class” stove top espresso makers  $62

We recently sold out of one of our most popular pendants, so we did a last minute pour and made some more! Colored concrete and a pearl on a sterling silver ball chain… at $58 these are a great gift.

We’re open Christmas eve until 3pm, or more realistically whenever people stop coming in the door (last year we were here until 5). We’ll be closed Christmas day and Boxing Day.

gift thoughts by frances #5

This will be a short entry. We’ve carried Envirosax bags at Click! since 2007. They are great little gifts, for this post, let’s call them stocking stuffers shall we? For $9.50 you can pat yourself on the back for giving a beautiful, practical and environmentaly smart gift. The reason I am writing about them at this moment? cool new designs. Just a few of them are pictured below. There are lots more! See you soon.

gift thoughts by frances #4

Click! and Dinah Coops have been trying to get together for quite a while and it’s finally happened. We knew we loved her aesthetic but didn’t know how perfect the match was until the work was in our grabby little hands.

coopstablemat

table mat $35, two napkins $32.

In her own words, “I work toward efficiency in materials, labor and energy; use less toxic materials and those made in the Northwest whenever possible; and create things that last and are made from recycled or quickly renewable materials.”

coopsteadishcloth

coopdishtowel

hemp/cotton dish towels $19.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to come in and see them for yourself or for someone on your list. It is rare to find function so seamlessly entwined in art that you have to consider whether to dry your hands with it or frame it.  Thanks Dinah!

Woolyhoodwinks are back!

A couple of years ago, we featured the loveable critters from the “Black North Forest”. They’re back!

Woolyhoodwinks are the creation of Albequerque, NM based Jeff Root. At $29.95, they make a great gift for just about anyone.

Another great gift for all ages: placemats by Modern Twist that can be colored with washable markers:
