Mighty Wallets

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Often times customers will recommend products to us, which they are usually apologetic about. As it turns out, we love to hear from our peeps when they find Design That Fits.

One such recent recommendation was the Mighty Wallet. Mighty Wallet™ is a Tyvek® wallet that is water-resistant, tear-resistant, recyclable, and made of recycled materials. At only $15 each, they make a great little gift for your Valentine.

We have several designs available in the store, and hope to have them available for purchase online soon. Please call or email to order if you are not in our area.

Click! and Dinah Coops have been trying to get together for quite a while and it’s finally happened. We knew we loved her aesthetic but didn’t know how perfect the match was until the work was in our grabby little hands.

table mat $35, two napkins $32.

In her own words, “I work toward efficiency in materials, labor and energy; use less toxic materials and those made in the Northwest whenever possible; and create things that last and are made from recycled or quickly renewable materials.”

hemp/cotton dish towels $19.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to come in and see them for yourself or for someone on your list. It is rare to find function so seamlessly entwined in art that you have to consider whether to dry your hands with it or frame it.  Thanks Dinah!

Cookies and Cake oh my! There are so many beautiful treats around this time of year and I just found a way to make them look even more tempting…cookie and cake plates by Stylegarden. Made in Tacoma of carefully procured vintage dishware, they are certainly useful around the Holidays and will probably resurface frequently during the rest of the year. If you ask nicely, we may give you a chocolate when you buy one…even if the plate is a gift for your friend.

the Hotties are here

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

It’s getting cold out there.

Have you ever come in from the outdoor bluster and just not been able to shake off the chill? I have three words for you…Hot Water Bottle, or Hottie as we call them in our house. When I was a kid my Nana cured everything with a Hottie and a cup of tea. (Never mind that we lived in Southern California and not in “merry old England”.) Anyway, we have Hotties in at Click! and they are sooo cozy.

From the five boroughs

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

We’ve spent the last week in New York City, kicking the pants off of the trade show and wholesale showrooms to find everything that we can’t find locally. This means that Click! is going to have some sweet merchandise coming into the shop for fall and winter, including new home decor from our favorites FluffyCo (bottle openers, wallets), Modern Twist (place mats, coasters), and Three by Three Seattle (yes, we order from them in New York, it’s just easier that way, don’t ask us why, but for crying out loud they’ve got DRY ERASE BAMBOO MAGNET BOARDS which are genius; all we can do is love them). We also found some sweet new items, including table runners, holiday ornaments, cocktail shakers, and much more, that we promise to document for you here just as soon as we can get our hands on some images.

Oh and hey ladies, you should note that we have not only ordered the new fall lines of Orla Kiely and Highway handbags, we’ve finally added Portland’s finest Queen Bee handbags. We’ve always loved their designs, but didn’t like that they were made of PVC. They’ve gone to a much more eco-friendly leather alternative and we LOVE THEM.

New work will be arriving at the store within a week or so; we’ll continue getting fresh new pieces in until holiday madness begins in just a few short months.

Father’s Day gift guide

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

This Sunday is Father’s Day, and you’re probably scrambling to find a decent gift for your dad, or the father of your children. Either way, he is, of course, notoriously difficult to shop for.

Bottle openers: nothing says “you deserve to kick back and pop a cold one” quite like these hand screened bottle openers from FluffyCo. With authentic Starr X hardware, he’ll stay refreshed for years.

But what if he’s more of a wine guy? Two words: Cork Cufflinks. Or is that three? Depends on how you spell cuff link.

Or perhaps he’s more into martinis?

OK, that’s all fine and good… what if he doesn’t drink alchohol? We’re going to stay on a liquid theme and suggest a solid ceramic coffee press.

But if you really loved him, you’d buy him this chair made of reclaimed plywood scraps from Austin, TX based ref-use:

All items are in-stock at Click!. The pictures link to details.

Cotton t-shirts and spring scarves

Friday, April 17th, 2009

We’ve carried Alena Hennessy’s designs before, and they flew out the door. We just received her spring line, and it includes some delightful cotton scarves and t-shirts.

I know, I know, we’re not exactly a clothing store. But it was hard to resist these for their super-soft cottony goodness, and the fantastic designs. Besides, Frances looks great in hers.

360 Modern at Click!

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

So…a while ago, Gini Johnson, a West Seattle real estate force, came into Click!, bought a few lovely things and suggested that some of her real estate associates would love to gather at Click! for some wine and socializing. Well it’s happening.

The group is 360 Modern www.360modern.com. They are real estate agents who specialize in representing, selling and geeking out on modern homes in the Seattle area. We are pretty excited to host a room full of folks with modern tendencies. So come out during the West Seattle Artwalk www.westseattleartwalk.blogspot.com this Thursday the 9th, from 6 to 9pm. Save 15% on all your purchases, snack on tasty things, sip a glass of wine, adore Kate Fluckinger’s www.katefluckinger.com amazing artwork and chat about that modern dream home you know is in your future – You may even find someone to help you find it!

Mixed Greens Calendar

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

One of our favorite local blogs is West Seattle based Mixed Greens. With a focus on local food, a philosophy of sustainability, and beautiful photography, the gals at Mixed Greens provide recipes, sources for local produce, and some great musings.mixed greens calendarNow they’ve published their first calendar!

Each page is 4 1/4″ x 11″, printed on 100% post consumer recycled fiber photo paper with fine archival ink and is held together with a magnet clip for hanging. They’ve printed recipes on the back 2 cards for easy reference and storage. We have them at Click! for $21 — a great gift with local roots.

Bamboo Rugs

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

It seems like bamboo is having a major revival right now. People are recognizing it as a renewable resource — perhaps too renewable if you’ve ever had it growing in your yard! Anugrah makes these floor coverings in several colors, in 2′x3′ ($37) and 4′x6′ ($96). The “rugs” have a non-slip backing, and are very easy to clean. Bamboo Rugs

Anugrah also makes an amazing undulating bamboo room divider that can be curved into almost any shape, and rolled up when not in use (6′ high, 8′ wide, $262). We have them in a dark brown and a blond bamboo color.

La Vida Verde Lamps — repost

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

We mentioned these earlier this year, but want to have an image at the top of the blog as many people probably saw these in today’s Seattle Times. (UPDATE: here’s the link.) Please call or email to order, or come by and see them in person!

These hanging lamps are made in Costa Rica by artisan Hennig Dyes from sustainably harvested plantation pine. There are two sizes and they come complete with wiring for either temporary (plug/switch) or permanent (“hard-wired”) installation. But the best thing is how warm and cozy the light is… even the cool light of a compact florescent bulb is warmed to a very pleasant glow. Small (pictured) $120, large $205.

Felt that Rocks

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Sometimes we buy things that are not exactly practical, because we love them. I don’t really know what exactly you are going to do with your new felt rocks, but I suspect you can start by loving them like we do.Felt Pebbles

These amazing rocks are made of 100% merino wool. They were designed by Ronel Jordaan in Johannesberg, South Africa, and made by women in a successful job creation program.

row of felt pebbles

The pebbles vary in size from 3-5″. Incredibly, they also make them as large as pillows, Ottomans, and even pilates ball covers. We can special order the larger sizes:

Ottomans and Pillows

…which have more obvious uses. And sure, the pebbles/stones could be pincushions or cat toys or things to throw in your glass house, but what I really want to do is get several of them and make an Andy Goldsworthy sculpture, of sorts.

To Market To Market…

shoppingtrolley.jpg

Shopping Trolleys regularly $49,

25% off for mentioning The Cart Project $36.75 [UPDATE 9/14/08: Cart Project promotion is over. Carts will be available on our e-commerce site soon.]

Surfing the West Seattle Blog (a favorite pastime here at Click), we were delighted to encounter an article about The Cart Project. This program encourages Westwood Village shoppers to use wheeled handcarts to run shopping errands rather than driving to and fro. Until the project expands to the rest of West Seattle, we’ve decided to encourage this great idea by discounting our lovely shopping trolley selection. Just come in and mention the The Cart Project and receive 25% off the purchase of one of these sturdy, stylin’ little numbers. [UPDATE 9/14/08: Cart Project discount no longer available]

Personal Testimonial – John and I have had our trolley for over a year now. We carry quite a load between home and Click! Zara, (we’ve named her) has saved our backs. Farmer’s Market? Go ahead and buy a sack of potatoes, some beets and a bunch of flowers. It all fits and it will be a much more enjoyable walk home.

Stylin’ Beverage Openers

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

We left our hearts in San Francisco when we discovered Fluffy Co., a line of clever screen printed products from the Bay Area.

 bitchen' bottle openers

$38 each

These hand printed bottle openers are made with eco-friendly, water based inks and come with sturdy hardware and a waterproof finish.  Great for popping open a cool one on the deck…(whenever the sun decides to visit Seattle.) Choose from three equally adorable designs in painted or natural wood finish. While you’re at it, be sure check out the wallets, eyeglass cases, and passport holders that we have in store made with vegan Naugahyde.  All materials sourced in the United States.
