Once upon a time, a mom came into Click! and wanted to buy one of Sarah Loertscher’s “Double Lucy” pendants. But she was hoping that instead of the necklace having only two silver components (one bright silver, one darkened) it could also have a third, in gold, to represent her three kids. Her youngest was with her and exclaimed “I want to be the gold one!”. How could Sarah say no to that?
Ever since, this has been our favorite gift for moms. Think of the three polygons however you like (one each for mom and dad plus baby makes three?) or simply as a clean, durable design that can be worn everyday.

If there’s one thing we like as much as good design, it’s good sushi. Fortunately, we’re lucky enough to be right down the block from the best sushi in Seattle, Mashiko restaurant.
Tonight during West Seattle Art Walk and Shop Late Thursdays, Mashiko is rolling out some happy hour specials. If you make a purchase at Click! tonight, show your receipt at Mashiko (paper or smart phone if we email your receipt to you) and receive a complimentary order of edamame!
This should be a great night to spend in West Seattle with so many of the shops open late and what promises to be a particularly good Art Walk. Shopping + Art + Sushi = Love.

After a whirlwind couple of weeks moving and creating an amazing new space, we are now open in the West Seattle Junction (“downtown west seattle“). Our soft opening was October 1st, six years to the day since we opened in West Seattle’s Admiral District.
Located at 4540 California Ave. SW, we are 1.5 miles south of our original location. The new space is larger and brighter, and more fitting for Design That Fits.
We’ve posted images of progress on our facebook page, where we’ll soon be announcing our grand opening party (to be held Saturday, October 16th, 6–9pm, with tunes by dj Cotton Candy, snacks by Herban Feast, and cupcakes by Sugar Rush Baking Co.). You may want to sign up for our email list so you’ll be sure to get an invite.
Porter’s favorite new product is the fatboy beanbag chair in the merrimeko design. It’s our new favorite too, because it looks like a nice place to take a little nap.
So many Click! customers have these beautiful pendant lamps in their homes, and with all of the fabric choices, none of them look the same. One of the great things about them is how affordable they are: at $148 for a custom made lamp, you really can’t go wrong.
Unfortunately, the price has gone up, but the good news is that we’re keeping the old price for the rest of the time that we’re in the old Click!. Which, as it turns out, won’t be long. If you’d like to order a lamp at the old price, get yourself into the store before this Sunday, September 26th, and flip through the fabric book to find the one that’s perfect for your home.
As recently announced on the West Seattle Blog and the Click! Facebook page, we are packing up shop and moving to the West Seattle Junction at the end of this month. That makes tonight’s Alena Hennessy opening the final party at Click! Original Location™, and it promises to be a good one.
Alena arrived yesterday with some of the sweetest artwork ever, and she priced it to be nicely accessible: about half the show consists of pieces that are under or around $100. She also brought several dozen of her adorable super-soft cotton screen-printed t-shirts and scarves, so we have a better selection than ever.
Party details: Saturday September 11, 5pm to 8pm, at Click! Design That Fits 2210 California Ave SW in West Seattle’s Admiral District. Alena’s work will be up through the end of the month, and will come with us to our new space at 4540 California Ave SW where it will remain on the walls through early November.
We just got word that the summer Orla Kiely bags will be delivered this Thursday, June 24th. Add those to the recent Queen Bee arrivals and the nice stock of Highway bags, and you’ve got the makings of a fabulous handbag event, which is just what we’re going to do this Friday the 26th, from 6 to 9 pm.
We’re partnering with The Ruby Room, a national organization with a local chapter that dresses up teenage girls in formal wear they would otherwise be unable to afford. Bring a gently used handbag to donate to The Ruby Room, and receive 20% off the purchase of your new handbag at Click!
If you’re not able to make it Friday night, we are accepting donations (and giving discounts) all weekend long.
UPDATE 6/23/10: We will accept as many items as you wish to donate to The Ruby Room, however there is a limit of one discount per customer.
UPDATE 6/24/10: They’re here! Classic Shoulder Bag (pictured), “Midi” Sling Bag, and Laptop bag!
It seems like everybody is having trunk shows these days. So what’s the big deal?
The big deal is that a trunk show of poppi jewelry, complete with poppi creator Dawn Benedetto, is sure to be the most fun you’ve had on May Day since that time you first danced around a May pole and realized the meaning of it all.
Famous for her one-size-fits-all rings, Dawn will be bringing her full line of fantabulous jewelry including bracelets, earrings and pendants in the classic poppi ring style. She’ll also have vintage lucite rings and “change-out” “Roper” earrings , full of color and fun.
Most of all, there will be rings, rings, and rings. Poppi rings are flirty and fun. The genius of their design is that all of her rings fit a range of sizes, which means you don’t have to worry about how your fingers change size with the weather. It also means they are very giftable. Did we mention Mother’s Day is coming right up?
Saturday, May 1. Artist reception 5pm to 8pm. Snacks and bubbles for the invitees. RSVP on our Facebook page.
Well, actually all week long. To celebrate Daylight Savings Time, we’re having a sale on all of our lighting, clocks, and handbags (which have very little to do with changing the clocks, other than that perhaps you change your handbag twice a year… right?). The sale is on through Sunday March 21st. Spring forward!
Clocks: New this week are bright colored clocks by Morito Yoshi, and we’re introducing them at 20% off. All of our other clocks, including Umbra’s Big Time, Ribbon, and Prima (the wood grain one behind the counter, shown here) are 30% off.
We just received our first shipment of stunningly gorgeous lamps from slip., straight out of North Carolina. The pendant lamps come in a number of sizes and shapes, but it’s the fabric we fell in love with:
Just when we caught our breath, along came the table lamps, with such groovy curves and exquisite detail (notice how the top ceramic piecefinial [thanks Charles] matches the base) that we were immediately sold.
Best of all, they are very reasonable priced: The pendant lamps are $148 including hardwire kit, and the desk lamps start at $182.
As is typical a few weeks after the trade shows, we’ve been seeing a lot of our favorite UPS driver lately. One of the new favorites in the store is the “Blackberry” tray from Red Vanilla. White porcelain, hand painted with a pattern that pairs nicely with the Modern Twist “Tree of Us” coasters (that’s what we call Design That Fits).
The tray measures 8″ x 19.5″, and is only $34. Astute observers will notice in the background a product we haven’t had in the store for a while: the wine butler, which is a Swiss-Army-Knife-like multi-tool perfect for the wine lover.
Another new arrival is this sweet furniture from InModern. Check out the end tables, paired with some sweet ceramics (and a Woolyhoodwink):
and the coffee table (could be a great kids table), stacked with an InModern stool and a several QueenBee bags and wallets:
Again with the background: check out the Bike Parking sign, $36, new from FluffyCo.
Often times customers will recommend products to us, which they are usually apologetic about. As it turns out, we love to hear from our peeps when they find Design That Fits.
One such recent recommendation was the Mighty Wallet. Mighty Wallet™ is a Tyvek® wallet that is water-resistant, tear-resistant, recyclable, and made of recycled materials. At only $15 each, they make a great little gift for your Valentine.
We have several designs available in the store, and hope to have them available for purchase online soon. Please call or email to order if you are not in our area. UPDATE: Select designs are now available for purchase from our web store. Call or email if the design you want is not show there.
We’ve wrapped up our trade show adventures with several last minute purchases including clocks, re-usable lunch bags, and a new greeting card line. Yesterday we finally ordered a line that we fell in love with at the last show: ceramics by Ink Dish, which feature designs by famous tattoo artist Paul Timman. We’ll have the plates and mugs in two separate patterns, available individually and in gift boxes.
And for those of you who need your cute fix, you can has some canvas bags by Japanese designer Shinzi Katoh. We always love ordering in this booth. The nice thing about these bags (besides their super-cuteness) is that they close at the top.
We took the trade show with great alacrity today, cheerfully attacking the aisles of Accent on Design, Studio, Details, and Tabletop. We came upon the booth of JosephJoseph, a British design team whose early glass dishes were part of our opening inventory at Click! five years ago. They’re now doing a full kitchen line, including these indexed cutting boards (that we first heard about over at Shelterrific!) and a salad bowl they call “Hands On”:
The hands detach to become salad servers. Look for these at Click! in late April.
Downstairs in Details, we visited one of our favorite designers: Jem Filipi from Highway. As you can see, she has new colors for spring, and Frances is modeling one of the new leather bags in her line.
