Let the Sale begin

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Today we began putting stickers on things. Red means half off (holiday-related items, U+ checkers-backgammon and chess), and more… yellow means 30% off (Loom Diaper Bags and Angela Adams handbags) and blue means 20% off (most of the ceramics in the store). Also, all jewelry is 10% off.

Remember that all in-stock Angela Adams wool and cotton rugs are always 10% off, and we have several cotton “floor models” that are 25-50% off, depending on condition. And for the duration of this sale (through Jan. 20), special orders are also 10% off – see Angela’s website for styles.

Boxing Day

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

In a nod to Frances’s British heritage (her dad was from England) Click! will be closed for Boxing Day, December 26. And that means we get two days off in a row, together. I know most people call that a “weekend”, but for us it’s kind of a treat. We started it with champagne.

Envirosax shopping bags are in stock again!

Friday, December 21st, 2007

I thought there was no way that we’d get our last order in time for the Christmas crunch, but the Envirosax folks came through for us! At $8.50 each, these bags are a great stocking stuffer. An Envirosax folds up to the about the size of a sushi roll, weighs just 1.4 ozs., and can quite comfortably hold the equivalent of two full grocery bags. Grab a few of them soon. They don’t seem to hang around Click! for long.

Smersh Christmas Cookies

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

We are getting ready for our Late Night Thursday Finale Holiday Party and John is in the kitchen baking the famous Smersh Christmas Cookies. (I do love cooking but baking involves measuring. Not my forte. I am not allowed to bake. I get to help with frosting and the fancy, artistic red and green sprinkles.) Anyway, these Smersh Christmas cookies are awesome. The little dash of anise makes them so delicate and festive. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday and don’t forget to tell John how wonderful the cookies are.

the woollyhoodwinks are here

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Five little creatures have arrived from the Black North Forrest. Each has its own rather particular personality. They come in their very own box/homes and seem as though they would be great company to young and older(ish) alike. They particularly look as though they would fit nicely in a christmas stocking. I’ve noticed that several of them have already been purchased by people who work at Click! …perhaps you should come in and visit soon. They are made in Alberqueque, NM of wool sourced in the US and we like them very much. Below is Jeff Root. He created the Woollyhoodwinks. This is the creator of the Woollyhoodwinks clan, Jeff Root.

dressing up for the Holidays

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

It’s funny as a “retailer” deciding how and when to get the store looking festive for the coming celebrations of winter and the new year. When I see Christmas catalogs in September, I scream! - ask John. Yeesh…let the kids get out of their Halloween costumes! At the store we have our north window decked out and are still working on our south window. I guess we spend enough time at Click! that we get into the spirit the same way we do at home. It’s not a deadline - it’s fun! I’m really excited that we are having our Late Night Thursdays again; the 6th, 13th, and the 20th of December. My favorite Thursday last year was when we watched with a small but enthusiastic local crew, the entrance of the big storm that thrashed Seattle. Fortunately there was plenty of wine and snacks for everyone. We had a great time. (John and I were out of power at home for 4 days!) Below are the cool “5 in 1 lampshades” we have decorating our front window. ($46 not including extension cord.) They store flat and are really versatile.

Poppi

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

When we first opened Click!, we knew that we would not carry anyone’s jewelry other than Frances’s. But almost as soon as we had made that decision, we knew that it wouldn’t last. Petal Ring Introducing Poppi, the creation of the fabulous Dawn Benedetto. We couldn’t be more thrilled than to have her fabulous, funky, fun rings in our store. The problem with rings (usually) is the sizing issue. These rings get around that problem by being created from sterling silver and elastic which makes them easy to size for just about anyone. The “petals” and “roe” are glass beads which the wearer cannot stop playing with, and everyone else cannot stop admiring. Roe Ring Because the sizing problem has been solved, these rings make great gifts!

Introducing the Click! Blog

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

With our new Click! Design That Fits Blog, Frances and I hope to introduce our latest findings to the world more quickly than previously possible. So many of the fabulous designs we select for Click! are limited edition or one of a kind, or we simply don’t buy in the quantity that would justify placing them on our e-commerce site, yet we want our customers and friends to be able to preview them from the comfort of their couch.

As such, we intend to use this space to give a quick “what’s up” regarding our latest finds, as well as miscellaneous musings on the world of design, jewelry, or perhaps our cats (come on, this is a blog; what did you expect?). Expect our posts to include not only our store product updates and notes on upcoming events, but also thoughts on trends we are seeing at trade shows and elsewhere.

We expect this blog to more or less replace the “info” page on our website, which from here on out will primarily be about our hours and location. It is also intended to compliment the product pages of our site by showing the items we have in the store but are not ready for e-commerce. For our customers outside of the Seattle area, feel free to inquire about products listed here; just because you can’t click to buy doesn’t mean we can’t ship them to you. Send us an email, give us a call… we are pretty easy to work with.

More than anything, thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far. Frances started making jewelry about 16 years ago, we’ve worked together full time for about 8 years, and we opened Click! as brick and mortar just over 3 years ago. We’ve enjoyed the support of family, friends, and fans along the way… we love you and thank you for your support and kind advice. Starting a blog may not be exactly revolutionary anymore, but it does set a milestone of sorts for us. Mark this: Click! blog milepost zero, and look for more to come.
